I received the unit today from Solaris Japan. Initial thoughts: decent build quality but honestly I was expecting a bit higher fit and finish for close to $200. Ease of use is great and I love the button remote. Recording directly to SD is a treat. 15 minutes of video at 720p 60fps was about 1.1gb. Image quality is excellent and crispy clean with the xrgb mini in front of it...but colors are very washed out. Anyone else played with one of these units? What has your experience been so far? Any tips for getting colors to pop like they do on my display?
What's the maximum bitrate that's supported during recording ?
You're likely recording in YCbCr (YUV4:2:0), hence the dull colors compared to RGB4:4:4 connection. But that's merely a player problem, so adjusting the player to do the proper conversion again during playback would solve it.
Have you recorded a test pattern to check for color differences?
The best way to do this is from a PC with an AMD GPU, since the Catalyst software allows you to select RGB / YCbCr in full and limited range to test different cases.

Good question - I'm not sure what the max supported bitrate is. All of the documentation I can find is in Japanese and I haven't found anything useful with Google Translate.
