PC Engine RGB picture problem

Post by RaidenViper »

So I recently got a modified RGB cable for my PC Engine. First I tried it out on my XRGB3. The picture in general just looked like shit.

This is the adapter:

Picture was too dark, and lots of strange noises in the picture. After messing around with the settings on my XRGB3, I managed to get the picture somewhat better. but it still looks really bad.

My best result with this RGB device was on my Sony Bravia TV by connecting it directly to the scart input. Looks great... but for some reason the picture is ''jumping'' or something. I made a video to show whats happening.

What exactly is causing this? and how can this be fixed?

Edit: Works great on my XRGB3 now. Changed the RGB input termination from 75 ohm to 220 ohm.

Your LCD TV is choking on the strange sync signal from the PC Engine. It is a known fact that the PC Engine's sync signal causes trouble with fussy equipment.

I do wonder what sort of RGB booster is built into that cable though, since it gives you a dark picture with a mini.
