I was pretty excited for the later start time today. It would've allowed me to be relaxing at home watching it live. At least it is still going to happen today. Thanks for all the work.

Cave could hire MAGES/5pb to make a PC port of Ketsui later on.

I don't doubt DFK since Black Label and Ketsu-pachi arrange DLCs could follow. Given time, anything Cave has previously done for 360 sounds like a fair bet. It's a bit too soon for Futari since the first Mushihime just came out.

I have to agree that AK might happen later. That said, the Nesica version of AK Shin would probably be good DLC- it's got some changes over the 360 AKS.

Strania on PC does seem to have quicker load times. The Now Loading screen is there for barely a couple seconds.
Kinect? KIN NOT.

Thanks for the Raiden episode. Always fun to see how different people use different techniques on the boss fights.

So I was just doing some bookeeping, checking in on STG Weekly's Extra Life totals for the 2015 season.

Of over 55,000 participants, we placed 615th -- which is absolutely incredible! Thank you all so, so much for your donations and support to this charity event during the last year; here's hoping we can do even better this year!

Rob please commentate

XOXAK Commentary for 2+ hours would probably overtake the GUS commentary.

Also will the commentary and or footage be from the CPS2 arcade release or the Dreamcast release?

Dope. Looking forward to it.
You're sure to be in a fine haze about now, but don't think too hard about all of this. Just go out and kill a few beasts. It's for your own good. You know, it's just what hunters do! You'll get used to it.

Thanks for the commentary LordHypnos! One question I forgot to ask: Does Mars Matrix have rank? I know Giga Wing does but I've never heard of anything like that in Mars Matrix.

There's what's called "Local Rank," but it's really quite different from rank. It just means that sometimes if you kill enemies fast enough more will spawn than if you killed them slower. It's notably a thing in old Hudson caravan games, probably Star Force, and for newer stuff Dangun Feveron, however it's not a too important for scoring in Mars Matrix, though it's probably the reason why my 3 million exp clear is lower score than Kollision's 2.6 million or whatever it is on the forum leaderboards, either that or he's using the Piercing Cannon more than me on some enemies, or just killing more enemies. I think I briefly mentioned it in the commentary, but I probably could have said more, really. It's not as big of a part of scoring as it is in Dangun Feveron or Hudson Soft caravan games, I don't think.

EDIT: Yeah, I really should have said more about that in the commentary, now that I think about it. One good example of it is during the really chaotic part of stage 4, new big enemies will spawn as you kill them, but if they scroll offscreen they'll stop spawning. They are worth a lot of points, like most big enemies, so your score can vary a lot just based on that. Moreno's tactic there is the best for scoring (and also used by for example Rob and SFKhoa in their videos), mine is okay, but it's much lower risk, and if I'm playing it in score attack mode and thus am not very powered up in that part, I don't kill even as many as I would in a real game.

Hope that helps. Also if you ever have specific strategy questions about Mars Matrix, feel free to PM them to me, and that really goes for anyone. Or post them in the Strategy Forum (and maybe also PM me), because then we might get a nice bit of discussion started and indexed for the future. Also, I'm sure this thread would be cool to ask questions until the next game to be covered is announced.

Also I wanted to thank Softdrink for how excited he was about doing the Mars Matrix episode, because it made it a lot of fun, and I think being able to watch and comment on the low score video was a lot of fun as well.

Double post, but I watched this again last night to read the chat, and there were some top notch comments.
Here are a few of my favorites, and I'll probably have forgotten some.

Solunas: How to Takumi your scoring system
1) Create Scoring System
2) Make it a multiplier for your actual score

In connection with our discussion about the enemy animations in stage 5:
TerminusEst13: Meanwhile at the Tenga vibrator factory

CloudyMusic: Mars Matrix: the game where you can try to not score for the entire game and still get 100 million points

sigworthy stuff.

EDIT: a few more from when we were first watching my video (which was made with a digital camera)

IcarusFW: Plasmo quality replays

Jaimers: This game came out in 2000? I expected the ugliest shmup ever to be older than that
Lord Sartori: Filming gameplay with a potato can make anything look ugly

Bananamatic: Is there a vaporwave shooter?

I totally missed it until it came up on youtube. I had gotten into the habit of waiting until thread got updated instead of checking on twitch on sundays.

Awesome, I really like what I've seen of this game and I'm glad to see it (and doujins in general) get some more attention. I've given up on getting it to run decently on my laptop, but I hope to spend some more time with it when I get more time with my desktop.
