It's AGDQ time again, and I suspect I'm not going to be getting a whole lot done this coming week.

I love watching these and seeing all the hard work these guys put into their games, but I must admit I enjoy watching the nerdy awkwardness more than I probably should. Here's a classic moment from last summer. You can actually pinpoint the exact moment his heart breaks in two.

The MM5GB race was delightfully awkward as well.NTSC-J wrote:I love watching these and seeing all the hard work these guys put into their games, but I must admit I enjoy watching the nerdy awkwardness more than I probably should. Last night's tasbot was excellent. I hope they release a save state for the SMW one, or at least the script.

The Dark Forces II run is amazing. Shit gets so fast with Force Speed and the guy goes around acing all(well, most of) those jumps
Pokémon Plays Twitch along with all the TASBot shenanigans were amusing as hell too.

I think as an in-joke between them, since Werster said he'd be giving him shit during the run.Blinge wrote:Oh lord.. this poor Sonic 2 runner is getting so much shit from the couch.
Either its an in joke between them or CRINGE
The Sonic 3 & Knuckles run was really good. Loads of good technical information from the couch, and a really high level of execution from the player. Love watching some crazy screenwrap glitching.

Re: AGDQ 2015 Thread
I missed the Silent Hill run, anyone seen it? SH speedruns were damn boring years ago, so I wonder if they found some glitches to show off for the marathon.

Re: AGDQ 2015 Thread
Lots of good runs this year. I have to watch half of them on the archive, but that's ok ..
Re: AGDQ 2015 Thread
Shout outs to KevinDDR, Kitaru, colour_thief and Qlex for that godlike TGM block. Hypest thing ever.

Re: AGDQ 2015 Thread
I've seen plenty of TGA replays, but that was the first time I've watched someone play and wish I had a board in front of me right now.
Great playing, guys.

TGM block so far is the biggest highlight for this year AGDQ. So good to see the TGM crew mostly living up to expectations and beyond.
And shoutouts to F-man for the donation shoutout.

Re: AGDQ 2015 Thread
It seems as though with the TASbot and Tetris blocks that they are doing demonstrations now and not just strictly speedruns. Would love to see someone 1cc something like mushi or ketsui there live.

Re: AGDQ 2015 Thread
There was a Lylat Wars (okay, whatever, Star Fox 64) score play some GDQs back, far better for that game than a speedrun. So, yeah.
ESA is also doing some stuff like that, Plasmo was at one point going to do Ikaruga there but in the end I guess he couldn't come or something.

My 1CCs so I can find the list easier myself

Re: AGDQ 2015 Thread
Yeah, it would be cool to see more exhibitions to break things up.

Re: AGDQ 2015 Thread
Much as I don't want to advocate stealing AGDQ from speedrunners, I've seen enough marathons now that I've seen every game I want to see run several times. More high-level gaming exhibitions are going to be essential to my continued interest.
The increased focus on races this year has made the standards much more interesting, though.

watched the tetris block last night... awesome.
Elysian Door - Naraka (my WIP PC STG) in development hell for the moment
Re: AGDQ 2015 Thread
They just have to be careful of not introducing too many exhibition games, but I'm all cool beans seeing games with some sort of speedrunning elements to them (like any of the Caravan games since speed killing is key to obtaining the highest score).

Re: AGDQ 2015 Thread
Hopefully we will become good enough at TGM in the future to not be an exhibition game, just a pure speedrun.

Re: AGDQ 2015 Thread
That run was amazing KevinDDR. Huge props man!
