Hi! I just bought a used Sony Trinitron CRT.
It has 11190 hours on it.
I have some problems with it:
1) There is a lot of color bleeding (tested with a PS2 through RGB SCART)
2)I heavily messed up the geometry without writing down the default values...(I'm stupid I know)
Can anybody help me?
The TV is worthless now and I paid 40 euros for it... )-:
Does anyone have the same model? Can you share your geometry values?
Is there any way to return to factory geometry values?
Can color bleeding be reduced or fixed?
I feel like such an idiot. How could I not write down the values. Oh man!

I will take a picture of the geometry values for you later on when I get home from work and you can work off those.

For the future, if you do anything like this simply make a few quick photos with a (cell phone) camera...

Default values are not necessarily good for each unit but once you've lost the values of yours let's say copying those from another unit is better than nothing.
Once you're here if you have a console that supports it you can use Artemio's 240p test suite to rework the geometry and colors:
http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=35554
Otherwise I suppose there are similar test suites available to burn on a video CD or DVD that you could use with a simple home player (?)

Unfortunately I've only got a ps2 and ps1 at the moment.
I'll try to find test dvd and burn it...
I'm working with it now...Seems like when I fix one side of the screen, the other one is rotated. (text appears curved)
And then I notice the overscan is too much and then I start from scratch again....!
I've made it a bit better now, but nothing like the default values (which only had a slightly bad corner (upper left))
The color bleeding is hurting my eyes though.
It is nothing like this video

Can anything be done about that?

Service manual:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_p3a0 ... sp=sharing
Test pattern DVDs:
http://www.homecinema-fr.com/colorimetr ... olormeter/
http://techpreservation.com/dvddl/testdisc.htm
For most stuff set h-size to have 6% overscan at the sides and v-size about 2% top and bottom. Thats with the HCFR disk.
This is the pattern to use:

The line on the number 6 should touch the edge.
Also when the tv turns on when you enter the service mode, switch to the input you're using before pressing enter to get to the actual menu. Its unclear from the manual, but I think you have to press mute to save changes.
Use composite for all adjustments. Then use the normal user menu to correct for horizontal RGB shift.
I found my settings from before:

Hey,
thanks for your help!!
I managed to make it look acceptable using your settings.
I've still got some problems with the upper right and lower left corners (The screen curves there a little)
but overall it is acceptable.
Can you also post your Color settings?
The ones under the "service" menu I think.

I don't have the colour settings any more, it was lucky I found that picture going through my picasa web album. You want to Use U-Corner Pin and L-Corner Pin (Upper and Lower), It works like the main Pin Cussion Control but only and the top and bottom. Have a look at those disks I linked to, they have enough patterns to fine tune your settings.
