Recommend me a good RGB scart DVD player

Post by andy251203 »

I'm looking for a foolproof way to watch DVDs on my PVM-2950Q in RGB. And before anyone mentions it, I am aware that DVDs are natively encoded using YCbCr colors, and the PVM is YPbPr capable. The reason I want to watch in RGB is because the PVM's colors look much better in RGB mode. The component mode needs some major color tweaking, but I don't really want to bother with service menus when RGB mode looks perfect.

So I'm looking for a player that can do the following:
-SCART RGB output (Doesn't have to have progressive scan since this is for mainly watching 480i content)
-Region free
-Displays in proper 60hz or 50hz mode depending on PAL or NTSC discs
-Universal voltage preferable
-Easily available for purchase and import into the US

I suppose a cheap alternative is to use a PS2, but is there an easy way to enable RGB mode on the DVD player? I'd rather not have to use a swap disc every time I want to watch a DVD. Also, I use a DTL-50001 as my main PS2, which can't play DVDs, so I'd rather not have a second PS2 just for watching DVDs.
