480p image not filling screen on NEC XV29

Post by andykara2003 »

Hi,

My NEC XV29 Plus has slight undercan with my Wii & Gamecube at 480p even when the monitor is set on max horizontal width. Vertical height range is fine though. Some games are much worse than others, ranging from 2-3mm gaps each side of the image to 1.5cm each side.

Does anyone know of a pot / horizontal width coil etc. within the NEC that I can use to extend my horizontal width range?

Cheers.

Try other 480p stuff, like from a PC, Dreamcast, Xbox, PS3/2, before you go tinkering. Gamecube stuff normally isn't as wide as some of the other stuff I play. Like, the Wii menu will take up the full screen, but gamecube games have a little bit of underscan.

My humble apologies - I missed the underscan/overscan setting in the menu! Problem sorted now...

Playstation 2, Wii, Gamecube, have underscans, the only 720x480 console that I know of that doesnt have any underscan is the original Xbox.

And it's always to the right and left, not the top and bottom. I wonder what the reasoning is for that.
