Under Duress - Episode 0 - The Bet

You've seen the good shmup series like STG weekly etc, now it's time for something shitty .

Some of you may remember I posted this a couple of weeks ago:




The challenge: Ikaruga Dot Eater 1cc.
Difficulty and lives/extend settings weren't specified so I've gone Easy mode and max lives, but I still didn't find it easy!

I recorded a couple of attempts while doing live commentary with a friend of mine, I really liked the result, so consider this a pilot episode or interest check for an ongoing series. The other inspiration for the series was a while back when "apples" was screen watching over skype and talking about everything under the sun, while trying to distract me from my game of dodonpachi, and somehow I did vastly better than I usually do, under duress..

So for Ikaruga I had two decent runs, the latter is more successful and starts at 21:40. My co-pilot is known as Foggy, while not a shmupper himself he has decent knowledge and respect for the genre.

*Epilepsy warning*. I tried to record this using the OBS record function, which is the cause of some intermittent black flashes. It only happens a few times but I'm sorry nonetheless. I know next time to use different software for capturing video.

As for further videos in the series? Let's just say I have a decent handful of ideas.

Watched the whole thing, pretty entertaining throughout, nice job on both the clear and the cast.
Oh and thanks for the shout, I'll get back to my rival duties soon but I'm distracted by Batrider atm, still playing Ikaruga on the side but not getting any good runs without that full focus.

I was hoping for a slightly bigger response but I should probably pick a lesser known game.
