Just got a DS...

Post by steveovig »

...and thought I'd post the news over here. I bought one of the silver versions (the blue versions don't have the Metroid demo, right?). I picked up Space Invaders Revelution and Bomberman along with the system.

Space Invaders is pretty good, a lot better IMO than the previous Space Invader games on the PSX and GBA. It actually feels like the old game with slightly updated visuals. It's pretty hard though but I am on the shmups board, afterall, so that shouldn't be a problem. Good game with a good price, only $19 at Wal-Mart. BTW, still haven't gotten far enough to find powerups unless I'm playing wrong.

Bomberman is pretty decent. It's great to finally see a "scrolling" battle mode. I swear they were promising that for the DC Bomberman. I do miss the ability to pick other characters ala Saturn Bomberman.

Metroid Hunters I couldn't get into much. The controls seemed awkward having to look around with the stylus. I only tried it for a minute before I became frustrated.

Overall, I'm loving the DS and am wondering why I didn't buy it sooner. I still gotta pick up Advance Wars, the Pac-Man games, Mr. Driller, and Nanostray. I can't wait for Castlevania, Mario Bros. DS, and Trauma Center.

buy METEOS.

it's great.

i'd suggest nintendogs, but i figure if you haven't bought it already, you're probably not interested.
say, by the way...

and in the meantime, it's gone away....

I played a demo of Nintendogs and liked it but I figure I've already got an actual dog, so what's the point of buying the game.

For Metroid, use the thumb stylus. After a little while it becomes second nature. At least it did for me, at any rate.

I can't imagine playing it with a normal stylus, though.

That's the same reason I haven't bothered with Nintendogs. I've got the real thing at home, and it's more trouble than it's worth sometimes...
