Did death brushing first appear in Weapon of Choice or Hitman: Blood Money? Giant Bomb's Death Brushing wiki page shows Hitman: Blood Money originated the idea in 2006, where I thought Nathan Fout invented the mechanic in Weapon of Choice in 2008. Anyone familiar with Hitman: Blood Money? Does it have death brushing?

(P.S. "Death brushing" is an automatic slowdown game mechanic that kicks in right before death to give the player a last chance to survive.)
Did "Death Brushing" First Appear in Weapon of Choice?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pac-Man_Ch ... ip_Edition (2007) slows the game down if you're about to collide with a ghost, so it can't have appeared in Weapon of Choice first regardless.

Can't say I remember Hitman: Blood Money having death brushing at all to be honest. I think one of the earlier Max Paynes had it though - apart from the bullet time things slowed down slightly when near-death.
My memory could be failing me but hopefully some other avenues for you there.

Patashu, I believe it was the DX version (2010) that introduced the slow down. And a quick Google search shows only results for "DX".

Re: Did "Death Brushing" First Appear in Weapon of Choice?
This answers it. Hitman does not have Death Brushing:
Hitman does not qualify for Death Brushing, based on the definition that it allows to skip the death blow. In Hitman you enter a death sequence and slowdown at the same time. The death has already occured. You are at 0% health. However, you have a last moment to regain health before you die completely. The slow motion helps you regain your health, not skip the death blow that has already hit you. The slow motion itself is not the definition of Death Brushing.
Hitman gives a way to gain more life after you hit 0% health. Most players believe slowdown equals death in Hitman, based on the videos I watched. I assume most times slowdown equals death, not like death brushing where most times you survive. That said, it is not about statistics. There could be death brushing that does not save you 95% of the time, for example. So the main point is, Hitman does not provide a way to avoid getting to 0% health. Rather, it provides a way to regain health after it gets to 0%.
Neo is supposed to miss the bullet, not get hit by it, start to die, and then do something (head shot three people) to get life back.
Let me know your thoughts.
My logic:"After 47 has accrued a lot of damage, he will enter a death sequence where time slows down and the screen is gradually coated in red. Oftentimes, if you have reached this point, you are usually beyond hope (as most of time, at least for me, I entered this sequence when reloading) as you will die after a short period of time. However, if you do have a gun and ammunition available, you can come back to life. Simply perform three headshots in a row (the slow motion helps you somewhat) and you can play again. The only problem is that your health will be extremely low. If you are damaged any further, you will automatically die. (Healing items may let you return to the headshot sequence, but I am not certain and you have probably already used them up at this point.)" - http://ca.ign.com/faqs/2007/hitman-tril ... ugh-721934
