I have a PVM-1450QM and I put the normal wii component cables into the back like this:

Now the signal is there but the screen is mostly just green.
Does anyone know what I should be doing? I also have the Wii RGB scart cable. I don't mind cutting up either of these cables to get the job done.
PVM-1450QM with Wii RGB/component?

Press buttons on the front so that the RGB input is YPbPr.

Clearly it only says RGB on the back, what makes you think it would support YPbPr?
With 15 kHz monitors there is no reason to use Component anyway, the Wii RGB signal is superior.

OK thanks for the info guys
OK so any idea how I'd hack together a cable? Or is there an RGB wii cable I can buy that goes through RCA jack sockets, instead of scart?
Most of the other PVMs say R, G and B on the sockets and list the equivalent component values by the side of the socket as well. I thought they were the same thing or something, but I'm obviously wrong.Xan wrote:Clearly it only says RGB on the back, what makes you think it would support YPbPr?

SCART -> BNC adapters are readily available on ebay, which might be the better solution if you want to connect other systems as well.

Yeah, I have a mega drive and a spectrum with scart RGB cables.Xan wrote:SCART -> BNC adapters are readily available on ebay, which might be the better solution if you want to connect other systems as well.
But the adaptor would have to be female scart to 3 x BNC? I can't seem to find anything like that....

If you are in the UK I'd recommend Retro Gaming Cables, I see they even have a nice discount now. http://www.retrogamingcables.co.uk/sony ... r-bnc.html
