Einhander Clone: Phoenix Hand

How many are familiar with Einhander, believed to be one of the best shooters created? Well recently, I am creating a clone of Einhander called Phoenix Hand. Then add some Touhou or Deathsmiles into the mix.

In this game, you control one of two characters. An advanced fighter that much like the ships from Einhander, and a magical warrior with a phoenix familiar. The latter is different as she switches two weapons between her primary and whatever her familiar fires.

There is actually a story behind the series. But if you know that of Einhander and the anime Vandread, you can probably guess what it's about.

Yes I do know the Einhander, and havent seen the Vandread anime but will do when there is time. Anyway all you said sounds quite promising =), is it going to be for PC, web browser or maybe other device?

As of now, this is only made for the PC. Maybe if it gets more fame, I'll expand it to other devices. However, it will be hard because I'm gonnan have to have much credit to Square Enix due to how much of an Einhander clone it is.

Before I say more of the story, I'd like to say this also took inspiration from Lyrical Nanoha.

So, for the story:

Mankind is divided by gender on two planets. One is Mada, an all-male Orwellian planet that focuses high on technology. Another is Lili, an all-female BNW planet that focuses on magic. Currently, these two planets are at war for an unknown amount of years.
You play as one of two characters: One is Ludo End, an experienced Madan pilot entrusted to use the new Hand-1 prototype fighter for suicide missions against Lili. The other is Misi Femini, a young Lilian who finds a phoenix familiar named Gabrielle and a fighting staff called Phénix, which she uses on a raid against Mada.
In story, only veterans know of this these two characters and they become a story known as "The Legend of the Phoenix Hand", hence, the game's name.

Indeed sounds like an interesting approach to the story and having two characters one from each planet gives enough freedom to choose at start. Also I may suggest you make enough differences to not credit other big company, thats if you want to sell I mean, which asuming all the work involded in this is highly possible, so if you manage to make it a unique new concept instead or clone from Einhander you will be able to sell without fear of royalty issues you know.

Aside from all the said regarding characters and main plot, it sounds really cool, I hope you sell well and can show us some screen shots soon =)

I'm well aware of the dangers of creating such a clone. If I were to sell it, yes, I would try to make very notable differences. However, I still may need to talk to them to settle the royalty issues. Just the more differences there are, the better it'll be.

If you've seen Vandread, you can obviously see they don't need worry about that. The males use a type of cloning while the females use some kind of sperm injection. Or something like that.

Hopefully not. But I doubt it will. The worst it can be is put on hiatus and even then, I would progress on it every now and then.
