Protip: ReBirth doesn't have an Undo function (it's in the Edit menu, but it's always grayed out).
Workaround:
a) Before you do any knob recording, set loop points to the start and finish of the loop, and use Edit/Copy (loop?) and you have a backup of the current loop with everything recorded on it.
b) Save each "take" as a new rbs file into a folder for your current project if you're in a "happy place" with the current loop.
When you're in Song mode, all mouse clicks, knob turns etc that you do inside the loop parameters (if the Loop is set to ON) will be recorded into the song. If you get stressed by switching knobs, just record one knob at a time. You can also record this at a slower bpm then
Here's how I do a loop export:
1. In Pattern mode, tweak the start off point of your loop until you're happy with it
2. Switch to Song mode and click Edit/"Initialize song from Pattern mode" (or Loop if you're doing a whole track in ReBirth and you're only changing a part of it)
3. Turn off all the patterns you've activated in Pattern mode and press Rec than Play to erase the first bar then stop playback
4. Go to the next bar and click Rec
5. Activate the pattern you want to start with then press play
6. Record all pattern changes at first, like a bassline that moves across notes for 16 bars (you can copy paste this loop a few times if you think this is boring work if your loop are around 128 bars, lol)
7. Save your song
8. Choose a filter knob to record, press Rec and record the knob sweep (hold down Shift to do finer movements)
9. Happy? Save your song
10. Record the next thing one.
