Hey whats up...?
Just wanted to drop in and say hello to all my friends here...even the rivals!
Hope all is well, and its cool to see that this site has grown. Even to the point where I feel like a newbie!!!
I haven't been gaming that much lately. In fact, the last game that I played was GTA IV . With a few "Indie" PS3 games.
Sorry, not been shmupping much at all.
Still love the genre though.
What have I been up to?
Well, to summorize, The car Chevelle thing. Music and guitar playing/composition, flying rc aircraft.
I'm drinking a beer while my two boa's eat their dinner, so I had some time to post here.
I'll probably linger around for a few days, then its back to whatever.
See you again!

Nice to see you alive and well and enjoying what else life has to offer.
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.

I was about to say something similar. It's always nice to see one of what I consider something like 'the original cast' of the shmups forum dropping by.neorichieb1971 wrote:Nice to see you alive and well and enjoying what else life has to offer.
Re: Hey whats up...?
GTA IV was a looong time ago. You should take another look at gaming sometime. Now that the indie scene is finally getting good, gaming as a whole has gotten a lot better now than it was 8-6 years ago (in my opinion). Wait, does that mean you don't know about Crimzon Clover yet?
Pardon my ignorance, but what is "car chevelle"? Is that like fixing up old cars for fun and profit?
In any case, thanks for dropping by! I really like this community and it's always great to see the regulars around. It's pretty much my "home base on the internet".

Either way, howdy and welcome back.

Nostalgia!
(anyone else remember Blast Shack?)
Oh wow...I actually forgot all about those pictures. Yep, that area still remains almost the very same.
Oh, and I should mention that in the above post of mine, I was talking about GTAIV...well, I bought the game about six months ago. So, its only been about two to three months without video-gaming. Not years!lol

"Car Chevelle Thing".
Its my 1968 Cheverolet Chevelle. Lots of go fast goodies!!! Here are some vids...

The last video is filmed at night, and you can ride shotgun/passenger style.
Notice the tach...even from a rolling start, mashing the gas pedal bounces the rev limiter. Which is programed to 6500RPM. As soon as you get on it, it revs up that quick!!!
Top speed? Had it up to 132MPH...got scared and let off.
The 46 year old suspension needs to be upgraded like everything else to be able to handle all this power.
About 450 to 500HP.
Added this one, I guess I had a repeat on the other.

Queue the dramatic music... behold the phoenix has risen! LOL. Kidding of course... Holy shit... How long has it been? Nearly nine years since my last post I think. Hahahaha. So what have I missed? I saw that TWITCHDOCTOR is still coming around so I wanted to say Hello as well. Yeah, I'll second the feeling like a newbie to the site as its been so long... however TWITCH and I have roots here going back to 2002 before the original site got re-designed. I was never very active in this scene, as you can tell if you look at my past posts. Although I always been a gamer in some form or fashion, would not call SHMUPS my passion though... but I like a variety of genres.
My recent gaming history basically involved leaving the Xbox 360 to go back to the PS3 to play a few exclusives before the next generation consoles came out. Of which I chose to jump on the PlayStation 4 camp as Microsoft dropped the ball initially with their draconian policies (which the later backtracked)... ether way... the PS4 has proved to be a more powerful console currently leading the console war so it seems to be a good choice. I most recently finished playing the incredible "The Last of Us" remastered on the PS4. It must of been the 4th of 5th time beating it since I had for the PS3. I did however, get to experience the DLC "Left behind" for the first time. It was great! I also got into gaming on the PC as Steam always has amazing sales on games. Also, with a good controller on your computer you as practically experiencing the same or better than console quality games. I bought an Xbox One controller for my PC when MS released drivers for it, and its great!
In honor of making an appearance back here at Shmups, I just picked up the shump called "Jets'N'Guns Gold" from the Steam store. It looks over the top! See trailer here; http://youtu.be/B0UzaVsXWCw. Those that have played it, was it worth it for $6.99 ? I'll let you know my impressions later.
Anyway... hello to all... both new and old. Btw, I was the creator of the web site, The Blast Shack back in the day. Good to see its still remembered.
Peace out. Talk again soon.
