Riddles: shmups

Post by mehguy »

Welcome to the riddle thread! Here I'll post a scoreboard.

Here is the first one.

Easy. 1 point.

One of the most well known bullethells.
It was in the cave.
But hasn't made a console release here
But mostly on ios.

Likely, but there are both Mushihimesama and Mushihimesama Futari, and they cannot be distinguished from what the riddle says.
My official answer is DEFECTIVE RIDDLE ERROR - SYSTEM RESET written in the traditional Taito font, white on a black screen.

But could also be DFK, no?

Not enough specifics!

lol Ixmucane2. My guess is Futari specifically because it's by far the more popular of the two. HARDEST LAST BOSS EVER and all.

n0rty makes a good point though!

DDP DFK had a PAL version (compatible with US X360s) so it may or may not count depending on whether the world is only made of Japan and America.
However, DOJ had an iOS release as well and its PS2 and X360 ports were not released outside Japan, so that one could also count.

This riddle was defintely not well thought, but the idea is interesting~

EDIT : Good point about the "hardest boss ever" video!

In which case, since Futari was region free and iOS was mentioned that leaves Mushi (and espgaluda 2 is region free, so that's out!)

Clearly Mushi.

Do not underestimate the forums powers of deduction Mr Riddler.

It's dimahoo, you switch colors and collect treasure....

ikaruga isn't a shmup, it's a puzzle game.

guigui,

My simple guess is dragon blaze.

You milk coins, by getting gold coins from short range attack.
the attack you use when milking is also the more powerful attack.
yearn/secret quote sounds like something that fits the fantasy setting and the language used in the game, but here im probably off. RBY might be some abbreviation I dont get.

Dragon Blaze is quite a good guess. Not what I had in mind though. You're right about the last part.
