How to Power Monitor? (Nanao MS9-29SU)

Post by Perish »

Hello,

I recently purchased a Nanao MS9-29SU which I was told is not working. Naturally, I would like to power it on and find out for myself what the deal is. I hae found a cord coming off the monitor that I am guessing is where is where I should be plugging in the power connector from my cabinet. I am simply looking for a little advice on how to do this. It has two red wires and two black. The two reds are capped off. I have two black wires coming from the cabinet which I am assuming are for the monitor. The cord coming from the cabinet has a connector on it. Pictures below.

If I am correct in my assumptions that these wires are used to connect the monitor my question is which wires from the monitor to use? Instinct would tell me to wire up the two blacks to a female connector that matches the male on the cabinet. Is this correct? Any particular order? In other words, does it matter which black on the cab side is connected to which black on the monitor side? What about the reds? What are they for?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Follow the cables from the part marked on the MS-9 chassis labeled "AC in". It says it directly on the chassis. Those two wires need to feed into the AC power on power supply. If your unsure if the wire coming from your Power supply are AC power check first with a multimeter. Set your multimeter to AC power and try to get a reading first before you do something that could potentially hurt you.

Basically you need a multimeter!

Cool, you can figure out the rbg, sync and ground by using the continuity on your multimeter. Just look at a standard jamma harness diagram.

(This is assuming you have a jamma harness.)
