I would have included Cave if more than 10 choices were allowed. These are the 10 companies Manabu Namiki respected in Dodonpachi Daioujou.

I don't respect companies - I respect individuals with vision. People come and go - a company is only worthy of praise so long as it keeps in mind the vision of its best employees even after they retire, while allowing new talent to find its own direction.

Toaplan games aren't that good. Neither are Seibu games.

I would vote ZUN, if I had the option. His games are in a completely different universe in terms of expectations, and a lot of people don't really "get" that. It's a shame, because Touhou even wins in the stylistic department; we absolutely should have went there, and not down the lifeless road we're on now.

My vote is for Zun as well. He had a vision and he made it happen. A lot of people are so humdrum like "oh it's never gonna happen so I'm not even gonna try"

Even though I am one of those that doesn't get Zun's games, I agree that it would be nice if more developers stuck to their own vision instead of copying others.
