Anyone know where to find a Sharp X1 emulator?
Anyone know where to find a Sharp X1 emulator?
I want to find a Sharp X1 emulator where I can use save states, please. And I would also like a ROM for the original Thunder Force.

ROM Requests aren't allowed on the forum, and for that department Google is your friend anyway.
MESS does easy save states, compatibility is better than it used to be but not guaranteed (and last I checked the YM chip for the X1 Turbo has a strange pitch compared to other emulators). X1-Millenium is the main one I use but I can't remember if it does savestates or not as its not something I frequently use.

I see. Can you at least give me links to download those emulators, please?

Hope there's a download available. Thanks.

I don't think MESS can use X1 games... Can anyone find me a PC-98 emulator where I can use save states, then?

PC_98? I think T98-nexT (or something like that) has save states. Did you bother searching for the other X1 emulator recommended?

X-Millenium and X1Emu: http://www.zophar.net/sharp-x1-turbo.html
Try them and see if they support save states

It can, you're just doing it wrong. Should be plenty of documentation on how to use it in the website already given.xxx1993 wrote:I don't think MESS can use X1 games... Can anyone find me a PC-98 emulator where I can use save states, then?
Re: Anyone know where to find a Sharp X1 emulator?
No advice on using your emulator, but in the case of the original Thunder Force all I can say is, prepare to be disappointed.
Re: Anyone know where to find a Sharp X1 emulator?
I still wanna try it either way, because the original and the sixth are the only ones I haven't tried yet... Does the original game even have an ending or is it endless?

Don't think anyone knows about the ending. Every port of the game I've tried has been too hard to actually get past the second stage.
For using MESS it's a matter of having the correct roms (asking for links is asking for banhammer btw). From there run the correct commandline and boom. Here's what I use to run Herzog, just change the directory info to the correct info for your Thunder Force image. If you're missing anything it'll let you know, and note Scroll Lock key last I checked was the switch between real and emulated keyboard mode (one locks out stuff like TAB to access MESS's menu for emulation purposes).

Code: Select all
mess.exe x1turbo40 -flop1 "roms/HERZOG.D88"
