Sella Vanity 1.22

Okay so I recently purchased Stella Vanity 1.22 via DL Site English. I'm having difficulties getting this game to run on my new Laptop. It's running Windows 8.1 and I realize that according to DLsite it doesn't run on 8.1, so I changed its compatibility setting to Windows 7. I also downloaded Applocale and I even downloaded the Japanese Language pack and its still not workin.

Anyone free to gimme a list of directions to follow to get this game runnin?

UPDATE: After some thurough research I found out how to run the game simply by renaming the root folder to something english. After that the game just up and started working. Now, about the Shops. Have any translations of the item shops been make, or even partially made?

yeah english locales tend to bitch about non-latin characters, even with applocale (i've seen games break in applocale that actually work without)

i don't think so, everyone quit playing this game after the brief popularity it had way way way back in the demo days

Oh, is that how you get shit from DL site to work? I bought Stella Vanity from them and couldn't get it to run, so I pirated it instead. Same thing happened with 4 out of 5 games I grabbed from them... wonder if I still have them.

if the installer (does dlsite use installers?) or folder (usually not as bad) has non-latin or even full-width latin in it, you will probably want to rename it unless you use full non-latin locale

for example i use th<XX> for toohoo, and usually i like to use things like TT1_v185a as well
