Capcom's 1943 plastic models by Fujimi

Fujimi has released a couple of plamo of 1943. I took some pics with my cell phone at the model shop last weekend. First up is an SD P-47 Lightning vs. the Yamato:

It's SD, so it's really non-scale. Fujimi's page on it is here.

Next is a realistically proportioned set of the P-47 vs the Ayako III:

I saw these in Rainbow Ten in Shizuoka, one of the best model shops in Japan, IMHO. Only the second one seems worth owning. The first one had dumb Bandai-esque stickers instead of waterslide decals. I can't remember if the second one did or not. Personally, I'd rather find a regular P-47 Lightning model by Tamiya or Hasegawa or something, but this seems to really stand out just for the Ayako III and the P-47 in scale with each other.

Pretty awesome. I saw the flier for these at TGS last year, it's cool to see the final product. I assume those pics are after being professionally painted though? I'd love to have these but I don't really have the necessary equipment to apply a decent paint job.

You can get away with using spray cans. As posted here before, the Vic Viper and Galaga starfighters I made were exclusively painted with Tamiya spray cans. The problem is finding the proper paint colors for this 1943 kit in spray cans. I'd have to look at what the instructions call for.
