Steel Batallion
Steel Batallion
OK, just come into a little bit of cash, and splashed out on this on a whim this afternoon. Was either this or a PSP... dunno if I picked the right one, but anyway... Just looking for a few impressions of the actual game, most of the reviews I have seen focus on the controller and fail to really mention what it actually plays like. And what are the differences between the original game and Line Of Contact (which also came in the box) for the solo player?

you should have bought my copy
anyway, i think its a lot of fun. to be cliche, it is quite an experience.
he controls took some getting used to, but what can you expect when there is so much to focus on. and while i don't think its fair to focus completely on the controller, it is certainly an important part of the game. without the monstrous controller, it wouldn't have gotten (and probably not deserved) all the attention it got (the extent of my vocabulary is limitless).
i'm afraid i can't offer really detailed opinions. i didn't have the room to keep it set up, so it got packed up not long after the purchase.
as far as line of contact goes, i haven't played it. but as far as i've heard when it works it is incredible. the service, last i heard, was rather glitchy and non-intuitive.
