The Shmups Appreciation Thread!!!
I just wanted to take this space to say that this forum and this entire site are the best things on the net. I love this place and i hope to one day see the site with a complete list of shmup reviews and coolness. The members of this forum have helped me with all kinds of questions from general curiosities to heavy metal to emulation. It's also fun to pop in a cd and veg out reading reviews and checking out screenshots for hours on end. Shmups rocks my socks. When i get my new pc i think i'm going to submit some of my own reviews...
Long live shmups!

Very addcitve and the best shumps site there is. Without shumps.com, I would've miss so many classic and rare shooters. The best and most fun part is gaining new info and opinions from all of the shooter enthusiast in the active forum.
I didn't realize this site is almost going on 9 yrs! Thats a long time. There should be an anniversary party for Shmups.com in the near future.

What can I say? A great site, a mostly fun place to be, cool reviews and mine of information - a big thanks to all involved in it's creation and running.
Another big thanks and thumbs up to the more experienced/skilled members that have taken the time out to help a less able member (ie me), whether by general advice, sharing tips and strategies, or writing those scarily comprehensive guides (off the top of my head, Rando, Icarus, Twitch and Rob amongst others).
And a thumbs up to Elixr and Pa for being the funniest characters in this board, if in very different ways.
Aw, can't you just feel the love?

Yep, I wouldn't have been the big arcade nut that I am if it wasn't for this site. I've made some great deals on here and this is where I scored my first cab. I'll always be fond of this place and certain forum memebers.

I'm thankful for the people who post on this forum, and tolerate my sometimes aggarvating rants about mainstream gaming, look I know it's here to stay and there's not a damn thing I can do about and I just need to get with the times. Now that I got that off my chest, I'm also thankful for a place where we can talk about a genre that is dying, but is still well loved and supported by us fans.
Also, I like how "intelligent" and smart the people here are, it never seems to turn into the crap that happens over at Gamefaqs, unless someone stirs up a hornet's nest.

Shmups: It's all about blowing stuff up!
I appreciate this website!!! YEAH!!! Six years!!! This was the first internet forum I ever saw in my life. It's still a leader.
But! I couldn't overlook it even once more:

Why are you incapable of mentioning Malc's name without also mentioning that he's got a mental issue? It'd be one thing if we were on the topic of anxiety problems or mental issues. But we're not. Ever. Seriously, every time you mention him it's like mandatory that you bring up his problems. If it was me, truth or no, I'd be pissed.dave4shmups wrote:and I admire Malc for his dedication in creating this much needed site-with his anxiety problem and all

I feel it man! Seriously, thanks. I know I get a chuckle out of alot of my posts but I always figured that most would think me a prick. I always feel like I'm on the brink of being banned or somethingMarc wrote:And a thumbs up to Elixr and Pa for being the funniest characters in this board, if in very different ways.

While I certainly agree it's not necessary to bring it up, keep in mind Dave has been dealing with that issue too. He knows what it's like.PaCrappa wrote:Why are you incapable of mentioning Malc's name without also mentioning that he's got a mental issue? I can't even remember how I found this forum.
3 years ago if someone told me I'd own radiant silvergun and an import saturn I'd never have believed them. Thanks to this forum I've discovered the wonders of importing which enabled me to finally complete all shining force 3 scenarios and finish a game I started back in 1998.
And most importantly realise how great rgb in europe is.
Hey spec what is your avatar? it looks like some red devil midget trying to squat in a womans cleavage. or some red guy with huge testicles.
