Problems with recording Retro Games on Hauppauge HD PVR 2

Heya Guys,

I got a problem with recording old school games on my Hauppauge HD PVR 2. For some odd reason, with older games (f.e. NES games), the recording looks really weird. An example in the picture below.



What's even more strange is that while recording, my screen just looks fine and clear. What could be the problem? I hope someone can help me out here!

Equipment:
Console: Wii-U (VC)
Device: Hauppauge HD PVR 2 GE Plus
Software: Hauppauge Capture

It's likely an issue with whatever video codec you're using to record.
