No, they're Sanwa. It's the same size thread so you can stick anything on there.

Your standard Sanwa balltop is a little bigger but that's hardly an issue.

According to Exar who made Neo Geo Stick 2's and 3's, that's correct. The original AES stick has a 30mm ball, but Exar went for 35mm balls for most of their models.
