Shmups.org regular Muchi Pork 1.01 WR - 2 ALL GET

Post by Skykid »

FINAL UPDATE: 2ALL

MANPUKU Mode ver1.01
DEL - 314,439,380 - 2-ALL - Rafute

First 1CC 2-ALL in the World on this mode.

Previous video:

252,850,570 Stage 2-5
Manpuku Mode

-------------------------------------------------------------

A feat worth declaring, Shmups forum regular DEL has been plugging away at MMP for years and now holds the No.1 position on Manpaku 1.01 mode topping the JP no.1 and the XBL leaderboards! This is an unofficial world record.

I'm told the YouTube vid will be up soon, will edit the OP when I get more info. I'm in Vietnam currently and wifi is terrible so will update when I can.

In the meantime his previous HS was a 358mil unbroken chain Pork Arcade Mode run on Youtube: a PERFECT run with max 5 lives up top all the way through!

Witness it here:

http://youtu.be/WohHvOgclPo

It's not often we get such incredible successes in our own yard, so well done DEL, that's what several years of hard gaming graft earns you!

As much as I loved DEL's progress in MMP (actually one of the most awe inspiring feats in 2013 in the shmups forum) let's not do a Twin Galaxies here. There's hardly any competition in Manpuku 1.01 and with not getting a 1cc, this score is work in progress anyway. I'm sure he can beat that score with only a few credits more.

His 1.01 score with Rafute on the other hand is much stronger and would more likely deserve its own topic.

No offense to anyone, but let's stay true. Just my two cents.

There you go DEL, I think everything you said in your PM is basically correct.

Was an interesting experiment to see what the forum is made of, of course. Well done anyway though mate, I know you worked phenomenally hard at the game. ;)

Whatever the status of Manpuku, DEL deserves a thread nonetheless.
Excellent and versatile player who is also modest about his achievements. A shmups gentleman - Keep going!

Here's the correct URL to DEL's 358 mil Rafute run:

Big congrats to the MMP scores, DEL! I'll upload the manpuku run in a couple of weeks (as soon as I get my new PC - the motherboard got fried on my old one :/ )

Interesting that he chose the yellow character, I thought the blue one was generally considered the best choice for high scores?

Cheers Skykid,

Everything Plasmo said is correct. My Manpuku score is merely a work in progress. Yes it happens to be a Jap Leaderboard No.1, but its a very underplayed Cave released game. A number of players here have the capability of smashing this particular score of mine.
Plasmo's comment about my Rafute 358mil unbroken chain run being more solid is also correct.
Plasmo knows his stuff

I'll carry on with Manpuku Mode and see what happens.

Very true. Its the lowest scoring character. It has no hope of gaining top spot on the 2 loop ver1.01 Arcade Mode. I just like it, that's all.
However, Rafute is very useful for the harder Manpuku Mode.
For the record, awo and NTSC-J have consistently outplayed me on this game. I expect NTSC-J to come back at me on Manpuku Mode and show me who's Boss 8)

I didn't expect Skykid to made a thread, but I guess it might bring a little bit of deserved attention to the game EOJ called "Yagawa's Magnum Opus."

Very nice run, I had no idea there was a 1 loop version, shame it never made it's way to the 360 port.

It did. The X360 port has both the original ver1.0 arcade mode and the ver1.01. The original arcade version does have 2 loops as well, but you have to 1 life the 1st loop to access it. Whereas the ver1.01 is more forgiving and you only need to 1CC the 1st loop to enter into the 2nd loop.
& Thanks.

Cheers Casey120,

A little update. I cleared Manpuku Mode to ST2-2.

Image

I may be the first person to see Manpuku Mode's 2nd loop, as the Japanese player who completed the arcade version 1.0 would not have triggered the 2nd loop.
The 2nd loop has all the hundreds of suicide bullets from Manpuku mode, plus the arcade mode's 2nd loop popcorn enemies spitting extra bullets from the top of the screen, plus new sick suicide spreads from lard-killed mid sized enemies.
Filthy.

pestro87 will be uploading the replay onto Youtube in a week or so. But if anyone else wishes to upload it from the Jap Leaderboard onto Youtube - please feel free :)

Fucking phenomenal work DEL, sincerely. I think you officially own the game - a written letter of approval from Yagawa forthcoming?

I'm sure I can speak on behalf of all the forum in saying you've done us proud!

Cheers Cagar, Skykid made this thread as a test more than anything else  , and an interesting experiment it was.
Like I said, there are a bundle of other members who could really give me some stiff competition on Manpuku Mode.
Yes, where's the thread for all those other players and awo, Aquas, chum, DMC & NTSC-J to boot? Threads could be made for all of them and more - saucykobold and Ratikal for sure. Also the great tviks from your Country. Remember, this thread wasn't what you think it is.
I certainly never asked for such a thread to be made  , but I did appreciate the irony of the test.

Indeed. This forum needs to realign its priorities.

And yes, when a member breaks a shmup world record, whoever it may be, you should stand up and light a fucking match.
