What do I do with R.O.B.?

Post by Minzoku »

Not in the sense of "It only plays Gyromite" but I have one sitting around that I'm not even sure if it works, especially since it doesn't seem to have anything that connects to the NES [other than in the commercials, I've never seen one in use to know if that's intentional], and it's otherwise taking up an awkward amount of space.

Sell/trade/junk?

Sell, sell, sell. Collectors will pay big bucks for it. Otherwise it's a pretty shelf ornament.

There are no wires. It works using an optical sensor in its head. I think those disc-shaped things attached to its sides are from the second R.O.B game, Stack-Up (edit: correction, they are from Gyromite). I assume the only way to test if it works would be to insert batteries, place it in front of a CRT TV and play either Gyromite or Stack-Up.

Suddenly, images of the AVGN being slowly pummeled to death by hordes of ROBs

ah, glorious vision, linger a while

Okay, they don't go for as much as I thought incomplete. So yeah, omit "big bucks" with a little bit of money and the quote still stands.

Hmm, just tested it--absolutely no indication it works. Opened it up, don't see any damage or that... motor case seems greasy but not sure if that's intentional.

Anyone want a dust magnet?

Grease in the motor case is there by design, leave it be.

I'll take it if you're giving it away.
