Fanmade Gungriffon Remake
Re: Fanmade Gungriffon Remake
Very cool. I've been on something of a 'mech streak recently (been reading the old BattleTech novels in chronological order) so this should hit the gaming part of that itch nicely.

Re: Fanmade Gungriffon Remake
I've wanted to try Gungriffon II's system link multiplayer for a while, but my second CRT is permanently tate'd.
You can however use system link in single player as a "dramatic camera" display.

Re: Fanmade Gungriffon Remake
Seems to be a lot of content in a relatively small amount of space. I hope they fix up the display options with something proper (what's up with Japanese doujins and having only windowed / lazy "fullscreen" options, anyway? Must be some old libraries or something banging around out there) and I also would like to spend more time figuring out what does what. I was able to successfully clear almost all the enemies (except for one jet, apparently) in the first mission, only to get a Time Over.
Re: Fanmade Gungriffon Remake
I think it has to do with following the waypoints first before you mop up the enemies (hint: standard circle waypoint is your normal 'go there' waypoint, triangle waypoint means you must clear the area from enemies to advance while square waypoint is the resupply point)Ed Oscuro wrote:Seems to be a lot of content in a relatively small amount of space. I just noticed some of the HUD beeps are ripped straight from DCS flight sim series.

Footage of some features that will be implemented later, THAT cockpit view.
Re: Fanmade Gungriffon Remake
Could be. I was cycling through some indicators on the screen at the game start and then the action started very soon after that, so I didn't have occasion to start playing around with it for a bit later. That said, the map appeared entirely clear by the end (just one jet which flew by and disappeared just as quickly again). I was starting to walk back and forth along the waypoints when I got my time over.
Re: Fanmade Gungriffon Remake
I played through the first three missions without really knowing what's happening and cleared them on my first try, it wasn't until mission 4 that I got a mission failed. For what reason, I'm not entirely sure. And I noticed if you zoom in on a friendly unit, you get a large radar screen. Didn't really understand what was going on there, either.
It is a cool game, but I do hope for an english version somewhere down the line. And the way the enemies seem to just materialize out of thin air when spawned kind of goes against the gritty, realistic mech-war -feeling the game's going for.

Perhaps it was because all friendly units were destroyed? Same thing occured on me but it was on mission 5.Ghegs wrote:I played through the first three missions without really knowing what's happening and cleared them on my first try, it wasn't until mission 4 that I got a mission failed. I'm pretty sure there was a part in the training mission that explains you how to issuing orders to a friendly unit, that might be it. But I didn't completely understood back when I did the training for the first time. :\And I noticed if you zoom in on a friendly unit, you get a large radar screen
