[solved] XRGB-2 + VP30 wrong colors issue

Post by Xyga »

Hi this is a question for the people who have experienced chaining an XRGB-2 with a VP30 and may have noticed this annoying color problem happening while playing the first level of Thunder Force IV for instance.

To put it simply the whole picture has a heavy, flashy purple tint right at the start of the level and it never goes away.
It's like when you select YUV/component input by mistake instead of RGB input, except the VP30's RGBHV input is actually set on RGB.

@Fudoh: you suggested I try with an Extron RGB interface in between - this is what I will do if there's no other solution, but I was wondering if there's any way around to avoid having one more machine wired to my gaming rig.

If there's hope where should I start looking ?
Is it a voltage level problem or anything like that ? Could I add some in-line resistors ?

Thanks in avance for your advice ! 8)

Do you have the image shifted horizontally on either the XRGB or the DVDO ? Tried a sync flip on the XRGB ?

- Nope the picture stays perfectly in place.
- I've tried changing the sync on the fly (V-Sync menu [60Hz/50Hz/Auto] and back to 60Hz) but no change.

Tried playing with the DTC, Brightness, Green, Blue and Black sliders, but no luck.

The feeling it gives is that the VP30 is seeing and therefore outputing the wrong colors...

I can take (crappy) pictures if you wish (?)

EDIT: sorry misunderstood the 'shifted' part, I did manipulate these things on both machines so I'll try with the default settings now.

you can manually adjust from RGB to YPbPr in the input menu.

Well no need to look further, you saved me once again ! :D

The XRGB-2's 'H_POS' setting was indeed not on the default position.
(the default position is actually not obvious, you have to reset the machine if you don't remember it)
Now everything's working perfectly.

You Sir deserve a medal. 8)
