Adjusting pots inside monitor with normal screwdriver, safe?
I can't find those really small sizes (2mm) in isolated form.

thanks, but I don't think they are small enough. I just bought some mini-screwdrivers, though I'm kinda hesitant to use them. Anybody tried this already? No dead bodies?

It was an example of what to search for.

Regular screwdrivers conduct electricity. Its not unsafe for you, since most screwdrivers have a large block of rubber or plastic for a handle, but the danger is in bridging something on your chassis. If you want to be safe, go with a set of ceramic screwdrivers. That being said, i've adjusted my monitor plenty of times with a regular screwdriver, i just took plenty of precautions.

Well, I'm still alive so the screwdrivers worked. What I could not find out however, was if the screen can be adjusted diagonally?

what do you mean? Adjusting the size diagonally? Just adjust the horizontal and vertical together

You shouldn't use metal screwdrivers on monitors - some older pot designs can be shorted out by sticking a metal blade in there.

No, I meant it looks like the screen needs a little tilt. I already adjusted the v/h size center etc. Pin amp/phase as well.moh wrote:what do you mean? Adjusting the size diagonally? Just adjust the horizontal and vertical together

Anybody got a clue to what audio cable I need to use on the PVM to get sound? I thought a 3.5 jack (pc speakers) would do the trick, but it does not fit.

Most PVMs have a single RCA input for audio since they have a single speaker. However, I much prefer to use an actual stereo system since the PVM's speaker is fairly tinny. After all, why not go for both great audio quality and great picture quality?Magicalbottle wrote:Anybody got a clue to what audio cable I need to use on the PVM to get sound? I do agree, however, for the moment I'd like to use my pc speakers. No room sadly for true good stereo sound atm. Btw, my PVM does not have speakers.

Then you'll need to use adapter cables in order to hook up your consoles to your PC speakers. Some of the PVMs that don't have built-in speakers have speaker terminals, but it doesn't sound like yours has terminals.

Why would you connect your speakers to your PVM in the first place? Just connect them directly to your source.

I used a pair of bookshelf speakers with a 29" PVM I used to own. The amp was pretty good quality and it made raising/lowering volume as easy as if I were just using a regular TV.

Ok, here is a pic of the back. Please note I want to use the single connection that says "AUDIO" (next to the digital RGB connection) as I do not have the other option. Which cable would I need as the mini jack 3.5 does not fit?

Unless I'm much mistaken, there's a reason that connection is in the "DIGITAL" section.
You have speaker terminals on the left, but you'll need to cut the cables to use these.
Which input are you using? If it's the SCART, I'm fairly sure you either need a breakout from this to a 3.5mm jack or to use the speaker terminals.

Yes, I'm using the scart connection. Damn, I thought this would be an easy job.
EDIT: I think this is what I need, no? SCART 21p male to female 21p + 3.5mm Stereo Contraplug (output)

Ah, I didn't know that European PVMs had SCART inputs. Nevermind my previous post.

Well, seems like this does not work. I get a loud buzz through my pc speakers when I connect the cable to the scart adapter...any ideas?

No audio at all? Loud buzz sounds like something isn't grounded properly.

Alright, I was finally able to make it work with a different adapter (left/right audio).
Btw, there is a slight humming noise coming from the monitor top when it's turned on. Same buzzing is coming from the speakers when I have a console connected and it's powered on. Is this normal or a ground issue?
