X-Arcade Stick - opinions required

Post by kennyrh »

I know there are a few threads about controllers but I need some views about this particular one.

I purchased a double X-Arcade stick many moons ago (wish I'd gone for the single cos it weighs a ton) but I've never really used it much because I'm so used to gamepads and the problem I find is that the stick seems so slow in response compared to hand controllers.

Is this just me or is there some response lag with the stick ?? How does the stick compare to other arcade-dedicated controllers ??
Shoot, dodge, collect . . .it's the ONLY way to be !!

I had an X-Arcade ages ago. Ugh. Now I'm a Japanese Parts man. That sounds bad.

If recommend something with sanwa or seimitsu parts, but I'm sure some like the x-arcade just fine.

X-Arcade uses knockoff Happ/IL Super sticks. You could try and adjust the microswitch legs for earlier activation or get a stick with better micros. I have Happ Competitions in mine.

If it's actual lag, then that's a different story. I don't know what emulator you're using, but I have had issues with certain versions of Mame. You might plug it in and go to the gamepads control panel. Try moving the stick and see if it registers immediately. If it does, the problem is probably with the emulator.

American parts? Yuck. Knock off american parts? Double yuck.

Sell off the x-arcade and get a quality sanwa or seimitsu based stick. What consoles are you planning on using a joystick on?

Ot: this should of been posted in hardware
