Noob - Formation Armed PCB - Totally lost

I bought this board knowing it was not in working condition thinking I could have it repaired down the line, but now I'm not sure if it's even worth it.
Is this board a bootleg or something? It doesn't look like other Nichibutsu boards I've seen. Or is it the Fillmore licensed version?
And I'm assuming someone tried to make repairs on the second side with the green wires. Looks pretty messy. Too much trouble to get this thing going again? As of right now I don't have a way to even hook it up to anything.

Would be grateful for some insight on this - like I said, I'm totally lost.

It's a bootleg, you don't have a JAMMA cabinet or supergun to test it with?

Nothing to test it with at the moment. I don't have the money or the space right now, unfortunately. How do you know it's a bootleg?

Missing JAMMA key, missing writing on the PCB, wrong ROM label style, missing filter caps, missing coin lockout hardware, just at a glance.

Wow - so much I need to learn. Thanks for the reply. So, what would you say is the best way for me to get up to speed on arcade boards?

Out of curiosity, have you ever seen a legit version of this board? I can't seem to find pictures anywhere.

Only one I could find. To learn - read up on various forum technical questions, the basic ones get asked a lot. I keep meaning to write a newbie primer but I haven't managed to start it yet.

Thanks - I really appreciate your insight. I'll start poking around to see what I can pick-up.

That newbie primer sounds excellent if you can find the time to put it together. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would be grateful to have something like that. Plus, I'm sure it would be nice to point to the primer instead of answering the same questions over and over again.

I'm really bummed about the board being a boot. I need to learn to spot the boards that are good and know what to stay away from.
