Roommate's Lathe is finally gone, which PCBs should I buy

Post by cicada88 »

After a long battle, Arvin's lathe is finally out of the f living room. Had a long drama about it but finally we just sold it on craiglist behind his back, so now the SEGA Blast City is all mine.

I need you to tell me what shooter PCBs to buy. I will only buy one every 8 months max so keep that in mind.

STGs that I have played & liked:

-DoDonPachi DaiOuJou
-Gradius Series (only played console versions)
-U.N. Squadron for SNES
-Espgaluda II
-Shooting Love 200X: Shmup Skill Test

My father was drunk and told me to stop f around and just get Kyukyoku Tiger. He may be right or wrong, but I rarely listen to either him or my mom.

Still not sure but it definitely wouldn't be the first time he was right (or drunk)

Agree with trap15, your father is awesome. So be a good offspring and get that kyukyoku tiger board.

Can't wait for the "Arvin sold my f blast city behind my back on craigslist. What do? My dad says murder." thread.

Keep an eye on eBay for UN Squadron, those boards have been selling pretty cheap the last few months, $50-$75.

Don't get nervous, I am not putting the Blast City at the living area like the lathe.

it is area 88 and i am cicada88 so it seems like a match from heaven, but i am worried about dedicating 8 months to this as my only STG might be like winter in Helsinki

While I have a rampant distaste for Area 88, I don't think anyone would advise spending 8 months with only it

yeah it's a fantastic game, but not all that difficult. i'd probably get something deeper/harder if it's going to be your only game for a while. Galuda 2 or DOJ would be great choices in that regard, and not too expensive.

I was thinking it is cheap enough, that you could pick it up along with another board of your choice and have 2 games for the long winter :)

Well that's always why I'm told it's good. "It's a classic". Most likely from people who played it as a kid. All I've ever felt while watching and/or playing is "wow the Japanese actually managed a euroshmup". While it's not quite that bad, it's pretty darn close. Not a fan.

I am unclear regarding the relationship between the lathe and the Blast City.

Come on now, nothing brings in the women like a giant lathe in your living room.

But then you said the Blast City wouldn't be in the living room, so who cares if there is a lathe.

lol this thread. personally i think cicada88 sold the lathe because he's jealous of arvins ability to attract hot girls by working said lathe. the stealing of many beers was just the straw that broke the cicadas back. once arvin found out the lathe was missing he confronted cicada. a fight ensued and cicada killed arvin. now he needs a place to hide the body. this is where the blast city comes in.

Arvin was rommate until we kicked him because of many problems over and over. For over 7 months (before July 4) he had the lathe stinking up the goddamn living area. Everyone who saw it especially girls said its so f boring to see. Finally, he is out of this place but left the lathe for months even with us yelling and begging him. So we sold it for almost $2000 to some lumberjack guy on craiglist. That's why i will buy a blast city with my part.

And to some idiot who says we just jeaous because arvin brings girls with lathe.... LOL YEAH RIGHT. We are pretty sure arvin has never even had a lady one time hahaha.
