Need Assistance - What game is this?

Post by LaserOption »

Hello to everyone who remembers me. Apparently it's been so long since I chatted here my username was deleted. >>; Ohnoes my post-count! NOOOOOOOOO! /vader

Anyway, I'm looking for a shmup for a friend. He used to play it when he was younger, but can't remember the name of it. It's really bothering me that I can't remember either, based on his description, so I turn to you, the community, to help me out with this XD

He says it's a World War II-based shmup. My mind immediately jumped to 1942 and its kin, but he said this was a horizontal. He said you fought battleships, and there was bombing involved. This was about 8 years ago, but there's no telling the date of production.

I've suggested several horis hoping to jar his memory with pictures, but nothing is ringing a bell with him. Any ideas?

Perhaps Two Tigers by Midway? Not really a true shmup, but it would seem to fit the description reasonably well. It's MAMEd, but difficult to control there.

Hi Vexorg ^^ Thanks for the reply.

No, this isn't the game in question. He says the graphics were way better than this.

Welcome back-- the old forum was actually lost, so everybody had to sign up again.

All I can think of -on a stretch- is In The Hunt.

Hey, I remember you! :D You had an avatar from Kabuki Quantum Fighter, no?

Anyway, I propose the game is P-47.

Yes I did have a Kabuki Quantum Fighter icon :D And I remember you Ghegs ^_^ You too Warpzone, and yeah I figured it out after seeing the join dates of people I *know* joined around the time I did LOL

Ghegs, I just gave him your KLOV link, and he confirms that it was indeed P-47. Thanks a lot. ^^ I knew someone would know it right off the bat. You, sir, rock hard.
