Hey Everyone,
I just got a DVDO EDGE (not green) to use with my retro consoles, everything is hooked up via composite and I noticed that when the video is outputted from the edge is looks noticeably blurrier and looks a bit washed out then when I have a straight composite connection to my Samsung Plasma. To be sure I connected two Super Nintendos to the TV, one through the Edge and one with straight Composite and when I switched back and forth I could clearly see a difference. I tried all of the deinterlacing settings and nothing seems to help.
Does anyone have an idea of whats happening?
I am a complete novice when it comes to this level A/V stuff, so please bear with me.
DVDO Edge Blurry?
Re: DVDO Edge Blurry?
Don't have an Edge (but a VP30) and yeah, well, composite. That's your main problem right there. Try finding an s-video or RGB scart cable and you should see a difference in quality. Good composite requires a good comb-filter, the filter in my VP30 is ho hum at best and I wouldn't be surprised if the Edge performs in a similar fashion.
And even with a good comb filter, composite is still just composite.

what Ji-L87 said. Your Samsung TV has the better comb filter.
