General MAME update thread

Dunno where else to put this, so how about a new thread. Any new patches to MAME that affect STG should go here I guess.

Recently popped the lingering sprite priority issue with all games using the nmk16.c driver. This means now it completely 100% works :lol: I've said this too many times... It'll be in the next source update of MAME I believe.

Great thread! But this fix doesn't change the faulty enemy timings in Hacha Mecha Fighter, right?

Considering that first 256 bytes was about half FFFF to pad out the interrupt vectors, I can't imagine the rest taking nearly as long :lol:

unless half the rom is empty and padded with 0xffff, you still have to dump it just to be sure ;-) (although once you hit that point obviously it makes sense to try and emulate it with what you have until it gets 100% confirmed)

I imagine that's actually quite likely, because there's not going to be much in the way of data there and you don't need a great deal of code to do what it does.

unfortunately for you it isn't the hmf protection, although these guys have been trying to trace out what is likely the protection chip (on a thunder dragon) to see if it can be 100% positively paired up with anything (and at that point of course, find out if there are any exploits for said chip that can work without decapping, although I wouldn't get your hope up there.)

a new DDP DOJ black label clone was dumped by 'djvinc' and will be supported in the next version.

It's newer than the existing set, I wonder if it fixes that 2 player chain bug or whatever it was that people mentioned about a year back?

although you probably won't count X-Plan because it's really a casino game with a built in shooter to hide the casino game..
and you might not count Fantasy Zone II because for some reason quite a lot of people don't consider them to be shooters.
and of course the Space Invaders / Qix thing is just an official classic re-release.

So Espgaluda is probably your answer.

Radirgy Noa isn't even supported in any official build, working or non-working.
