Best Shumps for PC?

Post by ryan.psyu »

Hey guys, obviously new here... I have been looking for this information myself, but whenever i do google searches for information on shmups Im always led here.

i looked in the "xenocide files" section of the website and found this..

"Now, a good shmupping friend of mine has a much better and up to date list than here, which includes pretty much all the shmups you are going to find on the pc ever. So go and see Roger's PC shmup database pages!"

The link for that updated database referred to is down..

So i was just wondering if anyone knew the latest and greatest shmups for the PC ???

I really only enjoy playing video games anymore if they are really difficult, I have beaten most of the difficult games i can find and i quickly learned shmups dominate in the world of challenging video games. So they will likely be the only games i play anymore :)

Thanks a bunch guys, i found cho ren sha.. and yes it seems really good.

I also found a game called eXceed2nd-vampire Don't remember how i stumbled across it. It seems really cool, it has the polarity switching like Ikaruga (never played ikaruga, really want to though. May get a dreamcast just for it)
I think i found just them demo version because i cannot get it into fullscreen. Is it possible for a program to be written so that it cannot be put into fullscreen?? i never had that happen with anything else before.

Either via the current Indie Gala or on Steam as the eXceed games are in there.

eXceed 2nd prompts you whether you want to run on window or full screen before starting the game propely. The only one I know boots straight to full screen is eXceed Gun Bullet Children, the first one.

You may want to check the recent Steam Sale thread where we put up most of the shmups there: http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=46617

Then you'll want to get Cho Ren sha 68k and probably pre-order Danmaku Unlimited 2: http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=46527

And of course get all three ALLTYNEX games, we just released those: http://www.alltynex.com/

It's ridiculous how many times in the past year I've googled "crimzon clover buy" and come up with nothing. Other than some questionable websites that is. Why is it so hard to give this indie company my money?

I spent so many hours of my youth playing Major Stryker.

The easiest thing to do is to go directly to the circle homepage and look for links to stores that carry their games. The hard part is finding what you want at a retailer that ships outside of Japan. Most of them don't.

When he's back up and running, rancor is probably your best bet for Crimzon Clover.
