Studio Siesta's new PC doujin STG title, Varstray...

Was browsing on Studio Siesta's site and came across this slick looking Varstray doujin PC STG title in the works. Four different modes to choose from. Supports an 8-way digital joystick + 3 button scheme for that proper arcade STG vibe. This is from the same folks whom gave us Trouble Witches and all it's variant spin-offs on Taito Type X, console, etc.

Took a quick look on the screenshots and it really reminds me of Stella Vanity's aesthetic. Given how I really enjoyed Trouble Witches, I'm definitely going to keep my eye on this.

That isn't out of the ordinary. A lot of doujin circles don't update their sites often, so it can seem like they're inactive when they're really not. I've been following this game for a long time and am eagerly awaiting a PV or demo to actually see how the it plays, since it looks very nice.

The screenshots look great. I hope they put Trouble Witches NEO up on Steam as well. In general, I'm very happy to see Japanese developers flocking to Steam. This bodes very well for the genre.

Cool news! I was intrested in this game when I first heard of it years ago. So its cool to see its still alive.

The devs posted some screenshots on their Greenlight page and several teaser videos on their youtube account; it looks like they'll finally be showing in-game footage in December.

"Hurricane of the Varstray -Collateral Damage-" will be released on Steam on December 15 and physically on December 24. It'll launch with three modes, with a 4th mode to be added in January as a free update, and they also have plans for additional DLC down the line.

Guess I'll pick a copy while I'm in Japan for Comiket but the promotion for this game has been almost nonexistent... Which lights all sorts of red warnings for me. Not even a single video, the YouTube account only has some sort of ARG about UFO sightings and not much else, the few screenshots around are like 400x400 or less, so small.

It doesn't help to read there already are "additional plans for DLC" when we basically know nothing of the game past a couple of screenshots.
