If you're talking about the Famicom version,
there was an official release:

I found this recently..is it what you were looking for ??..thought i might send it your way.. I haven't tried them before, but i'm thinking of getting Recca from them now that you mention it. Even if it doesn't have all of the origional stuff, at least the cart is there. Not sure about cover design, if they duplicate it, but in any case i could always make my own just for the sake of it. I have to email him and ask if he has the Recca cover art, because it looks like he does for all the other games. And very nice work i might add. seems he knows what he's doing, and knows how to use Epromscaptain ahar wrote:i know that it was a tournement shmup, and thus not generally available to the public. however, someone posted a site that could make a cart of it and sell it for the price of materials, but i can't remember the URL. anyone? thanks all.
Mostly rarities that didn't make it over here, and or hard games to find

there ya go.......
EDIT:.. this game is SICK!!!! for an NES game!!!! talk about total programming ownage on a weak platform!!!! If i'm not mistaken these are the same developers that made KYUKYOKU TIGER II I just realized this after doing a search.
I might be dumb for asking this, but does Naxat Soft have anything to do with CAVE and DonPachi?...

awesome..! .. haha.. I emailed the guy who runs the site. He said he still can make Recca, but unfortunately RECCA is the only cart he has that doesn't have origional duplication CART cover Art. But he did send me a sample of the one that he made, which is pretty cool!.. i think i'm going to purchase it pretty soon .captain ahar wrote:thanks OptimusPrimeX. yeah, that's the site. i actually found it an hour or so after i made the post. suppose is should have mentioned it then
Does anyone have a good clear view or high resolution SCAn of RECCA???>...... if anything i could send it to him to put on the Cart Cover!.. just like the origional.
I have the picture of the Cart Cover he has for the game. When i get home later, i'll upload it to image station and post it up so you can see if you went.. Seems like a cool guy. Emailed me immediately.

Kyukyoku Tiger II was an arcade release made by Takumi for Taito. Naxat Soft only handled the Sega Saturn port.OptimusPrimeX wrote:EDIT:.. this game is SICK!!!! for an NES game!!!! talk about total programming ownage on a weak platform!!!! I do not know of any staff shared between Cave and Naxat Soft.
Trivia:
Recca was programmed by S. Yagawa (later of Raizing/Eighting).

oh ok.. makes more sense i guess.. I always get mixed up between localization teams, ports, producers and programmers >_< i hate that.incognoscente wrote:Kyukyoku Tiger II was an arcade release made by Takumi for Taito. Kyukyoku Tiger II really does seem like the first Do Don.. just the way it plays and the ship design and power ups. Since Kyukyoku Tiger II was before Do Don.. am i correct?...so would that mean staff sharing or moving from Takumi to Cave?...stupid questions, but i guess i like to get my history straight out of respect for the programmers ^_^
I think i'm going to buy RECCA by the end of the month when i get some extra cash
