Which one do you think is the best game in the 19_ _ series?

- 1941: Counter attack
- 19XX (Capcom)
- 1944 (Raizing)

19XX: The War Against Destiny

Incredibly detailed graphics, hilariously incredible soundtrack, fun stage layout, quality bosses, unique homing beacon/missiles subshot, CHARGE BOMB BOOM. No contest.

Not played 1941, but 19XX is great. 1944 is terrible though, highly do not recommend.

I like 43Kai and XX. 44 has a great soundtrack but the game is bad (probably Raizing's worst). 41 just feels kinda... off.

1944 is the best because its rad seeing the planes pilot parachute out when you get a game over.

1942, 1943, and 1943

are incremental improvements, aside from that stupid fuel system introduced in the second one. Every sequel past this point will be a significant change in style.

1941's definitely my favorite, both in terms of game mechanics (rolling off walls, charged rockets) and enemies (Nazi technology elaborated on with gonzo superweapons). Varth is its goateed mirror counterpart.

With 19XX, I think someone at Capcom wanted to one-up Strikers 1945. It's a Psikyo-like in most things except length. Not bad, but I think Psikyo's own sequel did a better job.

1944's farmed-out to Raizing, of course. It's hard not to compare the game to their amazing homegrown titles.

Joint Strike is disgusting.

I personally prefer 19XX by a significant margin, but it's a bit of an outlier in the series, so those who are fans of the other entries might not find it to their liking.

Personally I prefer 1941 CA but 19XX is a nice game too

1943 Kai is the best.

19XX has the worst scoring system of any shmup ever. No-miss/no-bomb/medal chaining/100% destruction/boss speedkilling ALL AT ONCE!!

I loved 19XX so much. One of the first shooters I ever really got in to and the first I ever 1cc'd.

But it still turns out to be more doable for me than any of the Down Patch series, so even if I don't get the A rank or 100% destruction it's not such a big deal. You just have to beat the other players after all

1943 Kai seems okay but isn't really my thing. Love the wall-crash plane spin though.

I like 1941 the best too. I love the graphics, the music is pretty good, and it has a unique wall mechanic. Fun game.

Even though 1943 Kai is superior to 1943, I still prefer the original somehow (shotgun anyone?).

none, they're all too different. 1941 is a bit like 1943 but that's about it.

kinda sad that people dislike 1944 so much, it's an amazingly well-made game

1943 has very little to do with 1942 and 19xx has almost nothing to do with strikers (not even plus)

19XX is one of the finest shmups on CPS2

One of the best shmups period. 1944 is also a great game and a nice addition from Raizing.

Old school would be 1943 KAI, otherwise 19XX.

Anyone know why the 1941 pcb is so hard to find? If the game wasn't that great, was the production run just shorter than the other titles?

Not only beknown to the graphics, 19XX brings you a lot of techniques like Sniper tank and medal system like some good old Toaplans. I came to this series because of seeing Vietnamese community playing 1942 and 1943 on the Nintendo NES
