Aussie Politics Finally Gets Somewhere!

Guess who's back!
Back again!
Ruddy's back, tell a friend!
Rudd is back, Rudd is back,
Rudd is back, Rudd is back.

For those who don't know what I'm on about:

Rudd was our Prime Minister (it's like a President with some differences) until 2010 where Julia Gillard ousted him due to concerns with a tax on mining companies. No one likes Backstabber Gillard however, even less so after last election where we got a hung parliament (ruling party is not majority of Parliament).
With the next election coming up and the ruling party in complete anarchy due to having the lowest popularity in years thanks to Gillard, parts of the party decided it was time Rudd got back in. There was an attempt to get him back a while back but it didn't work. This time it did though! :D
There's still the actual process of getting him in (Governor-general formalities, etc), but he's sealed in as new leader of the party. Should be all sorted within the next few days.

Rather simple explanation of events, TLDR we're finally going to get a Prime Minister who's not complete fucking shit! Woohoo! I'm gonna go have a drink now.

I think you're both wrong, it was Austria.

The two countries names sound so similar, I'm almost tempted to do a totally awesome joke on this.

Don't be silly. Everybody knows Austria is the continent on the bottom of the world with the kangaroos and where Lord of the Rings was shot.

Australia, as a nation, has yet to fully recover from its major military defeat in the Emu Wars.

Well he is sworn in, now to see if he can hold the confidence of the parliament... things could still get messy

gladly its all happened a bit over 1 day before the parliament wraps up for the term, so if there is any more drama, it happens today
