What is the best Cave game, personal opinion

I have played it all except for Ibara and I feel like one cave shmup i keep coming back to is Dangun Feveron. The old school manic in this game makes me wants to perfect this game According to you and all of the cave shmups you have played, what is the best cave game that makes comign back for more..

I haven't played Mushi, Ibara or Ketsui yet, but out of the rest DoDonPachi is probably my overall favorite...it's probably at least partially because this is the game that really got me into shmupping, but even without that fact I still like it a lot, for its presentation, accessibility, fairness and ability to avoid almost every major hang-up that weakens the overall experience of a shmup.

Granted, I like a lot of Cave's other stuff too, but for me DDP will always be "the" Cave shooter.

Haven't played all of them yet, but I voted for Guwange. It's just the most fun IMO, although I might have also voted Dodonpachi as I consider it the "definitive" Cave shmup.

i dont know why you put donpachi and dodonpachi together. They are two completely separate games, with very different gameplay.

Is it possible for you to edit that in your poll so they are separate?

Then i can vote for my favorite cave game, which is Dodonpachi.

After that guwange, espgaluda, esp.ra.de all tie for 2nd.

I think it's a tie between Guwange and DDP for me. Since it seems to be the less popular of the two, I think I'll go for Guwange.

Surprising amount of support for Ketsui, despite it being pcb only and unemulated...[at the time of this writing it's tied with dp/ddp]

Might have to spend $400 on a videogame after all.

Well, I voted for DonPachi, but no one will know, because it's buried amidst all the votes for DDP.

And, given the choice, I would have voted for Uo Poko. Any game with drowning kitties is bound to endear itself to me.

donpachi remains my favorite. it's subdued compared to their other games, but i keep coming back to it for some reason. i'm sure most of the votes it's receiving in this poll are meant for its sequel, though. :/

After the shmupmeet I would have played all of them except for Ibara, DF, and Black Label. But I haven't played them enough times to have a favorite yet. But I have a feeling in the long run it'll be Mushihime.

No vote from me. I like Donpachi enough to say it's a three-way tie with DDP and ESP Ra.De. as my favorite. DDP probably gets the most playtime from me, but that's partially because I only have the Saturn port of DP to play.

why is DP and DDP are in the same voting choice? They feel very very different. You shoot less in DP, and enemies are a bit more resilient, but they also shoot you less.

The graphic style also looks different and closer to Toaplan than later Cave style.

I think those difference should warrant them two separate places.

but I voted ESP rade anyway, so no matter.

it's a tie between
Guwange & ESP.Ra.De
these games are very suitable to be Manga's or Anime movies.. such great feel to these games

I'm not sure if polls can be edited once they have votes (in all my years, I've never made a poll on a forum that I remember). If they can, perhaps replacing Ibara--which very few have had a chance to play--with Donpachi would work?

Ibara's an awesome game. I agree that DonPachi and DoDonPachi shouldn't be together, but that's better than removing anything from the list.

Well I bet most people here (including me) have not played Ibara (and I will probably not be able to play it either unless it gets ported). Voted ESPGaluda, but I pretty much like all Cave games almost as much

And as for the Donpachi series, my favourite one is DoDonPachi
