Hi, guys, I am new to the board.
I hope you guys can help me on this.
I have an apple iigs that I want to convert it's rgb output to a modern vga monitor.
I have the sync strike, the Gonbes 8200, the scart gonbes connector without the sync strike and an apple iigs scart cable and the sync strike doesn't seem to make any improvement over the Gonbes alone.
Oh, and the enclosure on the gonbes 8220 works with the 8200 as well. I just wanted to point that out. The only problem I had was that the metric 4mm screws did not want to go through the holes on the gonbes so I had to make then bigger using my dremel.
Anyway, what do you guys think?
I don't know what the heck I am doing.

I think you forgot to mention what seems to be the problem...

If the iigs has no disk to boot from it displays an apple moving back and forth from left to right and back again.
The problem is that the added sync strike does not make this apple clearer any more then the gonbes does when it is used alone. When it moves, it is a blur on my vga LCD monitor but much clearer on my vga CRT monitor but the lines over and under that apple are thinner the closer they are to that apple.
When the resolutions change on the display it jumps a bit and it does the same (but much less) when the operating system is loaded.
I have ordered the SLG3000 hoping that it will fix or at least minimize this problem.

The Apple 2GS outputs pure sync anyway, so why would you need a sync strike?
