Just shooting this out there in case such a device exists. In recent times Disney put out a Disney special view for 16:9 TV's on their blu rays which puts animated or filled borders on their presentations which surrounds the 4:3 view. I think Cave have done this on their XB360 games as well (from screenshots i've seen).
However, is there a throughput device which puts patterns on the sides of 4:3 games just to fill the screen? It annoys me that the screen is largely blank and I hate stretching it to fill the screen as it distorts the entire view.
