Alien Swarm

Wasn't there a thread about the Source port? Didn't find it.
Anyway, does anybody know whether the original Alien Swarm (UT2004 mod) is still played by enough people to call it community?
Just played some tutorial and I can already tell it takes teamwork. Where should I ever search for a team? Do online games focused on co-op, where being a dick just doesn't work, have any chance of survival outside of office gaming?
Come to think of it, there should be someplace on the internet primarily about co-op.
Pretty depressing that the port is only four player, whereas the UT2004 mod could be played by up to eight people. Says all about how many were interested in it I guess.
