Classical soundtracks?

Post by Pyongyang »

I was wondering if anyone knows of any other STG soundtracks to receive the classical music treatment?

Three of the most prominent I can think of are Gradius In Classsic I, Gradius In Classic II and Symphonic Poetry Gradius III. Does anyone know of any other titles that received a release on any media format?

(Thank god) Those are the only ones.

Radiant Silvergun's arranged soundtrack was composed using a synthesized orchestral palette.

Were there no others that received the full-on orchestral treatment? Lots of JRPG's have received these types of releases, I'm just wondering if any STG titles have. Personally I really enjoyed the Gradius releases and would be keen to source more. :D

Ikaruga received some unofficial (but professional-sounding) classical arrangements, you can probably find them on youtube.

A mix between a bit of techno and classic I suppose.

The boss music in Homura (Type X/PS2) is awesome - one of my favourite boss tunes - Is menacing as fuck and is a classical style piece.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned Jamestown yet. Granted, it's like eXceed2nd, more like a mixture of classical and techno.
