kinda-like in Strider Hiryu(the first one) when you pick up that sword-extender that boosts it to ridiclous extremes...Yeah someting like that, and you could do it as fast as you tapped down the fire button, or in the case of rapid autofire, holding it down.

Axelay 2...maybe Axestander or Crosslay (going with the theme "Castlevania subweapon-lay"). The world needs more awkward shooters with inertia, no mistake.
Also, Raiden Fighters...Something! Maybe "Raiden Fighters Cat."

I hope the Jamestown team makes another vert shmup. There was space for improvement/refinement in that game, but it did so many things right for a modern shmup, and added something new, too.

Obviously Resident Evil 5. Matrix Wesker as all the bosses, teleporting around and shooting at you with his gun. Then as the levels go on he morphs into his Tyrant form etc.

I wish there was a Hyper Duel romhack bringing Saturn mode's controls and music to the MAME table (emulation of the original Hyper Duel is excellent there). Graphics too, if possible.
I wish there was Zanac for the GBA (not emulated; REWORKED). I also wish there were more handheld shmups like Solar Striker: less things on screen at once, trickier behaviour patterns.
I wish there was a "caravan collection" of sorts for the GBA, no less.

Kirby's Block Ball seems to be as close as Nintendo's gonna ever give you. Highly recommended.
