Trying to remember a game need help PLZ
Hey guys ive been trying to remember a game i used to play in the arcade when i was younger and i remember very little but maybe u guys can help.. all i remember is that it was a airplane game u can get weapon upgrades like a laser type thing and u can select different characters and one guy special was napalm or sumn and I think it was a top down. sorry but thats it i thought it was u.n squadron but thats not it! any thing remotely like that please post so i can check it out this has been bugging me for months!! Thanks!

Well, if it's not Area 88 / U.N Squadron, it could be Carrier Air Wing?

If you're looking for help you really ought to post more specific/detailed information you can remember about the game; the information you've given is so generic it could apply to any number of shmups so you might as well just look through a list of shmups with selectable characters. How many buttons did the game use (shoot + bomb?), what setting was it (modern, futuristic, etc), what kind of enemies, what did some of the stages look like, etc?
For what it's worth, the only vert shmup with laser + napalm weapons I can think of off the top of my head is Strikers 1999/1945 III. The Raptor has laser weaponry and the Phantom has napalm.

Gekirindan? More a guess than a final answer, but there's a napalm weapon in this one and it does have different characters.

Yeah my guess is also Earth Joker, would explain the name confusion too.
