Best settings for watching animated DVD's?

Post by BuckoA51 »

I'm currently using a Dune media player with a DVDO Edge videoprocessor and a Sony Bravia from a few years back (The KDL-40Z4500). I've noticed when watching animated content from DVD's or DVD rips, especially Family Guy for instance, that I get a lot of combing on the picture every now and then, sort of on the edges of characters. It'll happen for a few frames then clear up.. what's the reason for this? Shouldn't DVD's be played back progressive scan therefore eliminating artefacts like this?
