I just can't make this thing work. I already edited the m1.ini and all that crap but it's no use.

Some help/tutorial would be nice. Thanks in advance

K, this sounded really cool, so I downloaded it and giving it a shot now.

Listening to Bakraid soundtrack lololol

So, what did you do wrong then? Please tell me you read the m1.txt and you know what a command line is?

Code: Select all

How to use (commandline)
------------------------

Edit m1.ini to point to your ROMs. It's format is like this:
; lines starting with a semicolon are comments and are ignored
[ROMPATH] <- this starts the rompath section. Each line after that is a path
roms <- this is the default path, the roms/ folder where the exe is
c:\roms\mame\ <- add additional paths here
f:\server01\archive\roms\ <- add as many as you need

[WAVPATH] <- this starts the wave path section, where output .WAV files go
waves <- only one path will be paid attention to here, unlike the
               rom path!

Run the app from the command line (yes DOS!) like this:
m1 [switches] [romname]
When I ran it this is what I got:

Code: Select all

C:\Users\RC1\Downloads\m1078a9>m1 bbakraid

M1: arcade video and pinball sound emu by R. Belmont
Core ver 0.7.8a9, CUI ver 2.3.3
Copyright (c) 2001-2008. All Rights Reserved.

Reading configuration from m1.ini

Switching to game Battle Bakraid (Japan) (Wed Apr 7 1999)
Game selected: Battle Bakraid (Japan) (Wed Apr 7 1999) (Eighting, 1999)
Driver: Raizing (type 4)
Hardware: Z80, YMZ280B

Booting hardware, please wait...ready!

Press ESC to exit, + for next song, - for previous, 0 to restart current,
                   * for next game, / for previous, space to pause/unpause

Starting song #1
Starting song #2
This is actually pretty rad, I'm glad I tried it out.

K I think I just lucked out picking bakraid first -- a lot of games just aren't supported it looks like.

The only other game I've got here at work at the moment that appears to work is Gigawing

COME ON
COME ON
cccCOME ON

I would guess that all CPS2 games are supported since they use the same sound hardware (QSound).

Games I tried that don't appear to be supported:
Batsugun
DDP DOJ
Eight Forces
EspGaluda
Ibara
Ketchupsui
Mushy Mushy Porku
Mushihimesama/Futanari
Pink Sweets

Protip: Rocking out to the Gigawing soundtrack will make you awesome

M1 doesn't support any PGM, nor any Cave SH-3. I don't think Batsugun works either. A lot of games that were added in the past, hmm, 2 years? probably won't work.

<S.Yagawa> I like the challenge of "doing the impossible" with older hardware, and pushing it as far as it can go.
